BlackAMX	The oil filter is real easy. The air filter isn't to hard either. Just take the right side panel off and you will see it.
pumpkin	Both are real easy. The oil filter is clear of everything and you can very easy put a grip on it. When putting the oil in, a funnel helps a lot. The support bar can get in your way. Troy Gaston	Thanks guys! I am a little skeptical about taking off the passenger side panel. Is that easy?
meancat	I find it is one of the hardest thing's I've ever done.And this go with saying I even have a hoist,Will hell I even have a full time mechenic.And it is still one of the hardest things I've done in my life.(but then again I'm lazy) ------------------

Yes, taking the panel off is EASY - a few screws along the top edge, lean it back (don't forget to pop the sidemarker bulb) and lift up. HOWEVER, the right way/easy way to change the air filter is to drive up on ramps and simply do it from below (exactly as described in the Service Manual). 2 minute job once it's on the ramps. -GRROWL
idive	This toothpic didn't need ramps. I just slid under the car and changed the air filter from below. After hearing that one guy took 1 1/2 hrs to change his, I thought I was doing pretty good getting mine done in 45 minutes. The only problem I had was getting the box back together. Knowing the secret now, it should be a breeze the next time. I'm sure taking the side panel off would have been alot easier. 3 screws on the top of the side panel is it. (At the bottom of the panel is some tabs I hear.)

TooHipCat	I have found so far that driving up on ramps is the easiest way to access the undercarriage of a Prowler. I picked up a real nice set at of all places...Wal-Mart. Believe it or not...they are made out of plastic. They are equipped with rubber non-slip feet. I try to go by manufacturers recommendations on the air filter. I don't like messing with that passenger side panel. I'd rather do it from the underside. You will find that the oil filter is a breeze too. Located on the underside of the engine, drivers side. GenoTex	Take those side panels off a coupla times and it'll be just like brushin your teeth Easy stuff man!
CTProwler	I used to change the oil in my cars for years. Its a pain getting rid of the old oil. So now i just let the dealer do it! ------------------
obi-wan	I highly recommend getting a K&N air filter element. They are really good and will last a long, long time. Just be sure to clean them when required. When you are changing the air filter get your head over far enough to see the slot on the left side of the filter box so you can align the tabs on the cover of the box that's inboard. That's the hardest part besides just teaching your fingers where to go and what to do. Be patient and it will work out well. I have a really nice oil change ball valve available to replace the orig. oil plug. These exactly replace the plug and require no tools to drain the oil in the future. There 35.oo plus shipping and I have them in stock. I've used them on all my cars for years and years and sold many of them over the past 12+ years. E-mail if you want more info. or want one. Obi-Wan

CJ	My husband has always done both the air and oil filters on my cats. He says the air filter is easier to do from underneath the car. Oil filter is easy.
MDProwler	K&N air filter and now trying K&N oil filter. Car has sat for 2 days and no valvetrain noise on start-up. Also using 10-30 syn oil. I have a Fram quick drain system on the Prowler and the Ram. Less messy. ------------------ Gary K
Troy Gaston	Hi guys, Well i changed all 3 today. I put in 10w - 30 Mobile 1 syn. I also put in K&N Air Filter(those thing are sweet!! And K&N Oil Filter. I called to see how much it would cost at the chrysler dealer in Temecula and they qouted me 60.00 for the mobile 1 oil alone. plus 20.00 to put in the K&n Air filter plus another 10.00 to put in the Oil filter. I said no Thanks and did it myself. It was my first time so it took a little more time than it will next time. The most difficult part was the Air filter and getting the tabs back in order. the rest was simple up on the ramps. Plus I saved myself over 50.00 form the dealer!!

There are tabs on the box that go thru slots on the cover. These were being blocked from going together by a harness running down the firewall that was held in place with plug clips.
